Ceres Hospital requires the service of one (1) medical officer (doctor) according to the hospital’s pre-determined monthly roster.


  • To ensure the provision of a 24-hour medical emergency and theatre service in line with the total package of care that the hospital delivers.
  • To procure the service of a medical officer to assist with the above.

Profile of medical officer required:

  • Must be registered at the relevant professional council (Health Professional Council of South Africa – HPCSA) as a medical officer
  • Must have an MBChB qualification.
  • Must have 3 years’ experience post registration as MBChB.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
  • Must be registered as a supplier on C.S.D (Central Supplier Data Base).
  • Must be available for a 24-hour standby service
  • Must be able to respond to call-outs within 30 minutes (from the time the Hospital staff member called, to the time that the doctor report to Ceres Hospital) and must maintain this response time throughout the contract period.
  • The above will be verified with each medical officer when the contract is concluded.
